January 11– Monthly Business meeting with Show and Tell
January 25th– Open sew and Outreach Sew. Bring your machine and either a project to work on OR baby kits will be available.
February 8– no meeting
February 22– no meeting
March 8– demo after meeting : how to stabilize t-shirts for a t-shirt quilt
March 22– baby quilt charity sew and Mystery Quilt sew along
April 12 – demo on continuous bias binding
April 26– Cutting Fat Quarters in preparation for 2023 Meet the QUilters (bring some fabric but we will also have fabric there); working on making the BQ Name Badge with Donna Lockwood
May 10– workshop after meeting to start/finish name badge
May 24 MTQ (Meet the Quilters) phone pillow
June 14 demo: Spinning Seams
June 28 : Demo and workshop of MTQ wool pin cushion
July 12 : change of meeting : Guest Speaker Charles Cameron- Trunk show and presentation in the morning and workshop in the afternoon. Meeting open to entire Guild membership, workshop limited to 24 participants (teacher request), cost $25 with sign up/payment at the June 14 meeting. You will also need to purchase his pattern at the workshop for $12 dollars, payable to Mr. Cameron.
July 26: change of meeting: Abbreviated Business Meeting (NO SHOW AND TELL); then Quilts of Valor sewing day workshop. More info to come.
August 9 – Demo : making a cuff for the Christmas Stockings
August 23 – Christmas Stocking sewing event for Community Outreach
September 13 Demo: accurate cutting methods
September 27– Brunswick Quilters University (BQU); preregistration required; Guild members teaching guild members!
October11– Change of meeting: Guest Speaker Annette Ornelas of Southwind Designs: trunk show presentation in the morning with a workshop to follow. Trunk show is open to Guild members. Workshop limited to 20 people-limit is set by the teacher- (there will be a lottery if sign-ups exceed 20). The workshop will be creating a pumpkin or heart block using Annette’s technique to create curves w/o curved piecing. The cost of the class is $25 and you will need to buy her pattern from her on the day of the workshop.
October 25-Change of meeting: Abbreviated business meeting with pillowcase sewing workshop after meeting. Any children’s fabric yardage donation would be helpful. We will also stuff the Christmas stockings that have been completed.
November 8– Veteran’s Quilt Presentation: 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.Nine veteran’s will be receiving quilts. Please wear red, white and blue. (Members please arrive between 9:30 and 10- we will start at 10 a.m. promptly) High School ROTC color guard will be attending. Reception to follow. All members of BQ are encouraged to attend. THERE WILL BE AN ABBREVIATED BUSINESS MTG AFTER THE PRESENTATION. We will have Show and Tell.
November 22– No meeting
December 13– Holiday Luncheon with Raffle Quilt; also will be celebrating the guild’s 20th year anniversary. Please bring a GREEN fat quarter to raffle to celebrate our 20th year (emerald green is traditional for 20 years). We will also recognize 4 remaining original members as well as install our new officers for 2023.
