Comfort Quilt Program

Brunswick Quilters main charity program is the Comfort Quilt Program.  We get together about four times through out the year to make quilts for the Sheriff's Department.  These quilts are given to children, adolescents, and others in crisis situations.  When a child is removed from a home due to fire, abuse, or other domestic disturbances, or is taken from the scene  of a traffic accident, oftentimes they are unable to bring anything familiar with them.  These quilts give comfort to these children and help them through a rough time.   Last year we donated 394 quilts to this worthwhile project and last year we hit our 1000 quilt mark.

This year's Chair for the Comfort Quilt Program is Marita Schweitzer.  Marita and her committee has just issued a challenge to the group.  The name of the challenge is "Scrappy Salads".

This is an example of the fabrics we were given for the challenge.   Kits for the challenge will be in the back of the room at each of our meetings.
