Business Meeting March 11, 2008

Wanda Williams called the meeting to order shortly after 10 am.  We were a little late in starting the meeting as we had to wait for someone to open the lodge; and we  helped to set up the tables for Aunt Jus' travelling quilt shop.   We also had adifficult time with the audio.

The Treasurer's Report was given by Julia Larsen
Linda Swanson introduced our 2 guests: Sue Hite and Madonna Rawley.
Nina Clark is looking for helpers for school house days.
Block of the Month:  Lucymarie Timmerman showed our block for April, which is entitled "Prairie Queen", and explained how we will make the table runner during our May meeting.  Lucymarie was also the winner of the blocks for this month.  Some thought the fix was in.

Janet Fahey hit it big this month winning with a double whammy.  She won the March fat quarters and the 50/50.

Jeni Kenzel won the donated "Side Winder"; which is an independent bobbin winder.  What a win!!!!

Some up and coming dates are April 22 for a lesson in bead work by Donna Lockwood and a pin cushion lesson by Julia Larsen.  Save June 9th for a workshop with Pepper Cory.

Joyce DeLucia explained to the members a new commitment fee for future workshops. This is a token attendance fee to simply hold your space in the workshop and will be returned to the individual after the end of the session.

All members should remember that we will have free sewing at our 2nd meeting of the month.  This free sewing time may also be held simultaneously with some workshops.

It was a brief "Show N Tell" this month only 20-25 minutes.

Mary Massey has a black featherweight for sale; asking price is $350--contact her if you are interested.

Respectfully submitted by Julia Larsen, in lieu of Karen Harding, offering apologies for anything I may have omitted.
