BQ Business Meeting      June 6, 2008

President Wanda Williams opened the meeting with a “good morning” to all.  The retreat committee will meet after the business meeting today.  An email with further retreat information will be sent out.  Cleo Lawrence mentioned to Wanda the possibility of our guild making some quilts for the “Victory Camp”.  Wanda explained the purpose of the camp.  The quilts would be coordinated with the camp’s primary colors and would be a permanent part of the children’s’ room décor.  Three quilts are to be done for this worthy cause.  Sign up sheets for those who are interested will be on the back table.  Workdays for this project will be designated later.

Julia Larsen gave the treasurer’s report after her joke of the month.  The joke was hilarious.

Joyce DeLucia told members that a sign up sheet is in the back for the “Borders and Bindings” class on June 22nd.  There is also a sign up sheet for “Christmas in July”.  Commitment fees for these should be paid to Joyce.  They will be refunded when you show up for the classes.

Cleo Lawrence informed members that we would be having a covered dish luncheon at the July 8th  “ Christmas in July” meeting.  Those whose last names begin with A through M are to bring a salad.  Those whose names begin with N through Z are to bring a dessert.

Eleanor Hoff reported that our last Comfort quilt day had brought the total to 47 quilts.  She delivered 45 quilts to the sheriff’s department and they were very appreciative.  The 3 remaining quilts will go to the children of the residents of the latest Habitat for Humanity house.  She asked if anyone would be willing to donate a quilt for the mother of this family.

Jean Williamson, a former member, came back to visit today.  Please add or make note of our other guest to your members list as she has joined.  Stephanie Lynott and another new member, Karen Preston.
