President Wanda Williams called the meeting to order. She announced that Julia Walker’s husband continued to have chemo treatments and was in good spirits; that Cindy Long’s father had died and that his memorial service would be this evening; That Ann Pendred’s husband had been hospitalized with a suspected coronary and that Shirley Zimmerman’s mother was having a pace maker inserted today. She asked that our thoughts and prayers be with them.
She thanked Joyce Wagner and Jean Marshall for all the work they did to make our Meet the Quilters Day such a success. Joyce thanked all those members who helped in so many ways.
Wanda informed members that they can fill out membership forms on the web site and it will go to Linda Swanson. She reiterated that these forms help the board know members interests. She informed members that someone was still needed to handle field trips. If you would like to do this, please contact Wanda.
Linda Swanson, Chairman of Membership, informed us that there were 55 paid members so far. She introduced guests Louann Wagner, LucyMarie’s daughter, and Bernadette Bruni. She also introduced two new members: Dee Braciak and Jane Harrington.
Julia Larsen, our Treasurer and Librarian, gave the Treasurers report. Our balance is $10,088.00 at present. She informed us that she has created a form for anyone working on a project incurring expenses and that we can get these forms from her as needed. Wearing her other hat as librarian, she announced that there are new stencils available along with cards in the box to check them out. She asked members for a show of hands as to interest in her buying 13 episodes of Art Quilting for the library. She will be purchasing these, as there was interest.
